In this series, Ibra (@ibrasroom) takes on our March 3–5 prompts, moving from a deeply personal pop discovery to an addictive collaboration to a nostalgia-filled pop-rock lift.

What’s a track that made you explore more from that artist?

One Foot in Front of the Other
Griff

I found this song through a YouTube recommendation, and it honestly came at the perfect time. I was going through something personal, and the idea of taking life one day at a time, even if it sounds cliché, it felt very real. It really touched me and made me want to explore more of Griff’s music.

I ended up listening to all her projects, and I genuinely love her catalog. I even have Vertigo signed and personalized with my name, which makes it incredibly special to me as a collector. That song was the starting point of my connection with her music.

What’s a song that’s been stuck in your head?

Stateside
PinkPantheress, Zara Larsson

This one has been on repeat. I’ve always liked both Zara and PinkPantheress, but this collaboration made me revisit their individual projects with a new perspective. I had listened to their albums before, but this song pushed me to go back and appreciate their aesthetics again.

You can really hear PinkPantheress’ production identity in the track, which I love, it highlights her not just as a performer but as a creative force. The music video feels refreshing too. It’s just one of those songs that stays in your head naturally.

Which song do you play when you need a boost?

Dime Cómo Tú Quieras
Los Mesoneros

Whenever I need a boost, I go back to Los Mesoneros, a Venezuelan pop-rock band I’ve loved for years. I’ve always admired how the band has evolved sonically over time.

Dime Cómo Tú Quieras reminds me of the kind of pop-rock I used to listen to when I was transitioning from my teenage years into adulthood. It brings back such a happy and meaningful time in my life. Beyond being a great song, it’s connected to memories and friendships that make it even more special. It always lifts my mood.
